We believe in one God, who is Father, Son and Holy Spirit.  We believe that this God has made himself known to us, supremely through his Son, Jesus Christ.  We believe that the Bible (made up of the Scriptures of the Old and New Testaments) is the Word of God.  We believe that these Scriptures came into existence through the work of the Holy Spirit and that the Holy Spirit helps us to understand their meaning.  We believe that the voice of God, speaking by his Holy Spirit through the Bible, is the final authority for all matters of faith and life.  We believe that, because the human race has fallen into sin and disobedience, everyone is in need of forgiveness and salvation.  We believe that God, out of his love and mercy, has provided a solution to this problem and that forgiveness and salvation are received through faith in Jesus Christ.

Inverness East is a congregation of the Church of Scotland, in the Reformed and Presbyterian tradition.  We stand with the historic Christian Church, in all its parts, in affirming the ancient Creeds.  We also stand in the tradition of the Scottish Reformation and hold to the Westminster Confession of Faith as our Principal Subordinate Standard.
