2nd Inverness Company Girls’ Brigade has been attached to the East Church since it’s affiliation in September 1940 during which time it has helped hundreds of girls and young women to Seek, Serve and Follow Christ. They are led by Captain Susan MacKenzie.
All sections of the Company meet on Tuesdays in the church halls from 5.00 pm - 6.30 pm
Sessions run from September until the end of April.

Congratulations to Samantha Fraser on achieving both the Girls’ Brigade Queen’s Award and the Duke of Edinburgh’s Gold Award. Congratulations to Mhairi Jane Campbell who was presented with the Girls’ Brigade Scotland President’s Commendation at the National Presentation evening in Cumbernauld on Saturday 13 May. Mhairi Jane is picture with National President, Jennifer Major and Right Rev Dr Russell Barr, Moderator of the General Assembly of the Church of Scotland.
On Saturday 27 August some of our Explorer section girls formed a Guard of Honour at the wedding of Explorer leader Gemma Wylie and Steven Clelland at Smithton Free Church.
Congratulations to Nicole Smith who was presented with her Gold Duke of Edinburgh’s Award by Deputy First Minister, John Swinney MSP at The Palace of Holyrioodhouse, Edinburgh on 6 July. The event was hosted by HRH Prince Edward who was also presented to the recipients.
As we come to the end of another session we have a number of girls to congratulate. Firstly, our Duke of Edinburgh’s Award winners, Nicole Smith on achieving her Gold and our three Bronze award recipients, Mhairi Jane Campbell, Eilidh MacDonald and Mary MacVicar.
